Sub : Re : President's Letter email dated 23nd June, 2010 on Amendments to Memorandum & Articles of Association (Western India)”

My dear Members,

“Greetings in the 60th year i.e. Diamond Jubilee year of the  Hotel &  Restaurant Association (Western India)”

We are in the 60th year and the current Constitution has withstood the test of time. While it is robust, you will agree that timely changes are important.  We all must take measured and judicious steps to propose changes to the Memorandum and the Articles of Association that will withstand the expectations of future generations.

Our Past-President, Mr. S P Jain, Chairman of a specifically appointed  " Constitutional Sub -Committee" has proposed certain amendments to our Articles of Association for smooth functioning.

We  have  posted a  current  copy of the existing Memorandum  and  the  Articles of  Association on our web site (www.hrawi.com), and am also enclosing a copy with this mail, for your ready reference along with the proposed changes of the sub-committee.

As an active member of the Association and in the spirit of democracy  and  total transparency, I solicit your review and comments on these draft changes, as well as fresh proposals too, if any from you.

To bring forth the process to you, I request you to carefully study the existing Constitution, give your comments and suggestions on the proposed changes, along   with any amendments you wish to propose, which shall each be discussed    thread-bare within the Executive Committee and taken to the General Body through an EOGM or an AGM as appropriate.

Time being the essence my personal request to each one of you, is to send your suggestions so that the office of HRAWI receives them, before the 10th of July 2010.

Thanking you
Yours Sincerely

Suresh M. Talera
President
