Single Window Clearance - 32 licenses old acts - President Mr. Kamlesh Barot

Single Window Clearance
Today in order to start a hotel there are 32 licenses are required, these are concurrent to each other. One department requires a clearance to be obtained by the hotelier from another department, while that department wants the hotelier to approach them only after getting the first department’s clearance. This puts the hotelier in a quandary and the projects get delayed amounting to escalating interest burdens. The same is the case when licenses have to be renewed for existing hotels and restaurants. The red tape and corruption take a forefront and tourism promotion a back seat.

Licensing should be cut to only Hotel licence and Restaurant licence. It might be a 10 page licence but please do away with these 32 licences most of which Acts are not relevant in today’s date. A two window system also takes care of policy dissemination. Automatic clearances can happen within the Government hierarchy but today the different departments are ignorant of policy matters initiated by one department or their higher authority, putting hoteliers into un-explainable hardships.
