Resolutions Passed in the 16th Regional Convention on 9th April2011at lavasa .

It is hereby RESOLVED that at this 16th Regional Convention of HRAWI at Lavasa on this 9th day of April 2011, the Hotel & Restaurant Association of Western India would diligently pursue with the Central/State Government and the Union Territories and Statutory Authorities of Western Region and Resolves that :
  1. Each state Government in the region forms a High Power Committee headed by it’s State Chief Minister & Tourism Minister executed by the Chief Secretary with Principal Secretaries of various tourism related departments and HRAWI nominees as members, to address tourism related issues.

  2. The respective State Governments form the Hospitality Development Promotion Board (HDPB) for Single Window Clearance for HRAWI member's projects as well as renewal of permissions/licenses at local levels for existing member establishments.

  3. Each State Tourism Secretary of the five States become a part of the Joint Tourism Promotion Council, to connect the five States of Western Region.

  4. Maharashtra Government scraps the recent amendment to the Entertainment Duty 1923.

  5. All five State Governments of Western Region grants Industrial Status to the Tourism & Hospitality Industry and ensures that the benefits arising out of it are effected for the hotel & restaurant members of HRAWI.

  6. The Union Ministry of Tourism ensures that the Union Ministry of Finance rolls back the introduction of Service Tax of 5% on rooms and 3% on Food & Beverages after abatement, and raises the threshold from Rs.1000 to Rs.10,000.

  7. All five States declare 2012 as the “Tourism Year” for it’s State with International level Tourism events organized in a “12 month Calendar of Events”.

  8. Electricity Duty is rationalized in the States of Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh and Union Territories of Daman, Diu and Silvasa.

  9. Parking norms are rationalized and be same for all the Municipal Councils of Western Region’s five states, which otherwise today creates a lot of hardship for Hotels & Restaurants.

  10. All five State Governments replace the Police License with a lifetime Police Registration before the project ends and replaces the existing Police License for Hotels & Restaurants to lifetime Police Registration.
