My Dear Members,

Sub : Re : Draft Letter for Revision of Charges.


This is further to our circulars dated June 15, 2010 and June 19, 2010, in connection with the favourable TDSAT Judgement dated 28th May, 2010.

In view of several requests with regard to the above matter, we are hereby attaching draft letter / notice to the Cable Operator or Multi-System Operator [MSO] for revision of subscription charges, as per the applicable Tariff Order.

Members are further informed that any agreement executed with the Broadcasters, Channels in all cases where the member establishment is receiving Cable signals from Local Cable Operator [LCO] or Multi-System Operator [MSO], shall stand superseded in view of Hon. TDSAT Judgement dated 28th May 2010 and Cable TV charges payable by members to their respective LCO or MSO shall be governed by the respective Tariff Order.
The present position is as follows

9] For CAS Areas:-

Rs. 82/- per month for Basic TRAI services (30 Free to Air Channels) + upto Rs. 5.35 per Pay Channels per month; and

ii] For Non-CAS Areas:-

All subscribers will have to pay (ceiling) as per the chart contained in Notification dated 26.12.2008 ( attached herewith ) or the rate they were paying on 1.12.2007 plus 4% and 7% , whichever is higher. The chart provides rates which vary based on the class of city and the number of pay channels.
