To
All Members of the Association :

Dear Member :

I am pleased to inform you, that the Seminar Sub-committee, is organizing a Seminar on “The Role of Food & Beverage Operations” in the current scenario at the Intercontinental Marine Drive, Mumbai, on Wednesday, 18th February, 2009, between 3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m., followed by High Tea.

With the global economic melt down, further fueled by the Terrorist Attacks in Mumbai, the Hospitality business has nose dived.  Even the expectations for the year 2009-2010 are not heart warming.  Hotels and Restaurants are, therefore, facing challenges on marketing of their products and services.  F&B outlets, therefore, assume a greater significance for resource mobilization. Over the years, however, trends have set in, where Hotels have started exploring the possibility of additional revenue from their food & beverage outlets.  Branding has also assumed a greater role in the new era of marketing strategies and concepts like Quick Service restaurants, Fine Dine Restaurants, Home Delivery systems and provision of a variety of cuisine, have started playing a critical role in F&B business of Hotels, as also of stand alone Restaurants.

The Sub-committee has invited Mr. Eric Lobo, an eminent Beverage expert, Mr. Satyen Dasondi, who specializes in F&B operations and Mr. Ameer Ismail, Executive Director of LinOpinion, a renowned Marketing Analyst, to make their presentations.

The F&B operations and marketing as well as production and service, coupled with the input cost considerations, assume a greater significance in the context of the serious effect of the recent events, on the bottom lines of both Hotels and Restaurants.  The Seminar will, therefore, be of immense help and assistance not only to Hotels, but also for Restaurants, especially the F&B Managers of member establishments.

To defer the expenses of the Seminar, a nominal amount of Rs.200/- is payable.  Since the Seminar is restricted only to about 40 participants, please enroll your participants at the earliest, to avoid last minute rush.

I look forward to meet you at the Seminar.

With best wishes.

Yours sincerely,

D. S. ADVANI
CHAIRMAN
SEMINAR & EVENTS SUB-COMMITTEE.
